Acumentra Health is a non-profit healthcare quality improvement organization. We contract with medicare to improve health care for Medicare beneficiaries. All of our services to Medicare beneficiaries are free.
Acumentra Health is working to improve preventive health services in
Congestive Heart Failure—58-page booklet to help patients control their condition (printable PDF format)
Diabetes—improved monitoring for Medicare patients with diabetes
Immunizations— persons age 65 or older get a pneumococcal shot at least once in a lifetime and a flu shot every year
Mammography—mammograms are a Medicare-covered benefit
Medicare selected these topics for national quality improvement efforts for five reasons:
- The conditions involved are common and frequently cause sickness or death of Medicare beneficiaries.
- Research shows specific treatments for these conditions are effective.
- Use of these treatments can be measured.
- These treatments are not being used as frequently as they should be.
- Acumentra Health and other organizations can help healthcare providers increase use of these treatments.
