Acumentra Health is a nonprofit healthcare quality improvement organization. We contract with Medicare to improve health care for Medicare beneficiaries. All of our services to Medicare beneficiaries are free.

We improve healthcare quality.
Acumentra Health works with healthcare professionals to help improve care for people with diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions. We work on improvement projects with
- nursing homes
- home health agencies
- hospitals
- clinics and doctors’ offices
- state and county health departments
- health plans
We review complaints about medical care.
Acumentra Health reviews complaints about the medical quality of any care covered by Medicare. We are not authorized to review complaints related to billing or to the hospital building itself.

We review a Hospital-Issued Notice of Noncoverage (HINN) issued before or at the time of admission to the hospital.
Medicare provides a process for beneficiaries to appeal if they receive a notice from the hospital before or at admission indicating that Medicare will not cover their hospital admission. To begin the appeal process, the beneficiary must contact Acumentra Health, using the helpline number below.

We review a request to appeal a discharge or complete termination of skilled services from a hospital or other care facility.
One of the most important rights is your right to stay in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, home health care, or hospice setting as long as it is medically necessary. If the care setting or your Medicare Advantage health plan tells you that you no longer need to receive skilled services or that Medicare will no longer pay for your care, you have the right to appeal the discharge or termination decision.
