The DOQ–IT initiative
Acumentra Health, Oregon’s Medicare Quality Improvement Organization, has been guiding Oregon primary care practices in implementing or enhancing the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems since 2005. This assistance has been provided under the national Doctor’s Office Quality–Information Technology (DOQ–IT, pronounced “docket”) initiative, funded by the Medicare program.
Care management
In addition to helping practices navigate the challenges of implementing an electronic record system, DOQ–IT also assists them in using the EHR to improve care. The DOQ–IT Care Management Program supports practices in applying EHR capabilties to deliver care more reliably and proactively to patients with chronic conditions and patients needing preventive services.
