Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
A
branch of the federal Department of Health and Human Services, the CDC
has a goal of protecting the health and safety of all Americans.
National Immunization Program (NIP)
NIP is a disease-prevention
program of CDC, providing
leadership for the planning, coordination, and conduct of immunization
activities nationwide.
The Community Guide
The Guide provides evidence-based recommendations for programs and policies
that promote population health, sponsored by CDC. One section is devoted
specifically to vaccines.
Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR)
The MMWR weekly contains data on specific diseases as reported
by state and territorial health departments and reports on infectious and
chronic diseases, environmental hazards, natural or human-generated disasters,
occupational diseases and injuries, and intentional and unintentional injuries.
Also included are reports on topics of international interest and notices of
events of interest to the public health community.
Immunization Action Coalition (IAC)
A resource for information and materials about immunizations including
Vaccination Information Statements (VIS) available in a variety of languages.
Vaccine Information
An extension of the IAC site. This site provides information about vaccine-preventable
diseases.
Medicare Quality Improvement Community (MedQIC)
A
comprehensive online resource of quality improvement information developed
by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for
Medicare's National Quality Improvement Priority Topics. Type the
word “pneumonia” or “influenza” in
the search box to find related resources.

Department of Human Services, Immunization Program
The DHS immunization program provides information, technical expertise,
and resources to healthcare providers and the public to ensure that immunizations
are available to all.
